Gujari Mahal was built by Raja Man Singh for his princess Mrignayani, a Gujar princess. All we know, she demanded a separate palace for herself with a regular water supply through an aqueduct from the nearby Rai River.
Let me tell you an interesting story of this Gujar princess. Once back in time Raja Man Singh alone went hunting and there he encountered a fight with a buffalo. And the buffalo was about to kill Raja Man Singh. All of nowhere this queen of Gujar and helped Raja Man Singh to rescue from there. The historians say that she herself killed that buffalo and she open his head with her bare hands.
After this incident, Raja Man Singh was impressed by princess Mrignayani and proposed to her to get married to him. Of course, she accepted his proposal. And she demanded a separate palace for herself with a regular water supply through an aqueduct from the nearby Rai River.

The palace has been converted into an archaeological museum. Rare artifacts at the museum include Hindu and Jain sculptures dated to the 1st and 2nd centuries BCE, miniature statues of Salabhanjika, terracotta items, and replicas of frescoes seen in the Bagh Caves.
